Jabba The Hutt sends mail?!

I take a break from my global take-over plans to present you with my weekly mail post. For those of you who weren't asking and weren't at all interested (yes, I'm talking to ALL of you), one of the first things I'd do if I ever achieved  global dominance is to establish indentured scone servitude. As part of swearing fealty, people would be required to bake me scones all the time. So it's probably a good thing that I'll never achieve my global takeover (oh look, cupcakes...!) because no one wants to spend their life making scones for a tyrant. More importantly, I'd eventually end up looking like Jabba The Hutt because I'm eating scones by the handful. Then who is going to take me seriously?! So let's just leave things the way they are, huh? The status quo makes everyone a winner! *high five!*

Incoming:

The top envelope was from Henderica who contacted me to do a swap of airmail stickers. She made her envelope look all air mail-like using washi tape. How clever! Plus, the stamps she used on her envelope were super neat. Thanks Henderica!

The bottom envelope is from Anna over at The Lettering. Thanks for the mail Anna! She included a questionnaire to complete and return so I gotta dust off my thinking cap to come up with answers and I dunno, I guess, when, maybe, what, where am i....?

OH, and just in case you missed the FANTASTIC stamp that was on one of the envelopes in the previous image, behold the stamp that came on Jay's letter:
CAPTAIN CANUCK!!! That is the most awesome sauce thing I've seen all week long. The Captain and I are destined to be great friends. I anticipate a bit of a rocky period in our friendship in about 20 years when Captain Canuck realizes that he's put on 50 pounds (you know, he's really let himself go because Super Beaver keeps getting the chicks), but we'll pull through. Though look at him pose in the stamp! C'mon Captain Canuck, who are you trying to impress? Thanks so much Jay for the new friend!

The funny thing about Jessica's envelope below is that it was marked Part 2 of 2. Just where oh where is Part 1 of 2? Clearly it decided to take a detour as part of its plans for a much needed vacation. Maybe it'll send me a postcard from Serbia....

I made the mistake of telling Cheryl that her previous letter was impossible to get into. So she decided to make her reply the Fort Knox of letters by putting her letter into 3 different envelopes. And that's AFTER I had to dig out the machete to get into this bad boy:
Whew. That envelope was a lot of work to get into. I deserve some congratulatory sushi, don't you think? GOOD JOB ME. You know, for opening an envelope. Not just anyone can open an envelope, right? Whaada you mean people do this all the time, everywhere? Crap. I guess I should cancel that parade I organized to celebrate the fact that I put on socks this morning.

I made this silly monster envelope for my 10 year old niece. Van Gogh, move on over! There's another superstar artist in town.

And that's it from me. I hope you also had happy mail days this week.

  1. Yay! It got there. I was thinking I would have to do a letter search and rescue somewhere. That could have gotten hairy. I guess that's how long (about) it takes for a letter to get to Canada from here. And I think I will have to do some scientific (although not TOO scientific) experiments with glassine envies. I'll be sure to report on my findings.

    1. I quite like envelope experiments! Please do let me know what you find out--we envelope scientists need to stick together.

  4. *gasp* OMG, IT ACTUALLY LET ME POST A COMMENT! I've been trying to do that for weeks now and it wouldn't recognize my wordpress account or openID! *pokes screen incessantly and grins mischievously* I feel so powerful at this moment.....

    1. Uh oh, I lost you to the power rush, didn't I? C'mon Kay.... put down the keyboard and just come on back..... :)

Huh. I never even realized the irony of putting the "Rush" stamp near the snail label. Let's just pretend that the snail is a text subject of a speed experiment conducted by the Umbrella Corp, shall we?

    2. Text subject. Yes, because the umbrella corp is now trying to take over mobile networks. OR I could have meant to write "test subject." Either or.

    3. Speed experiment? What speed experiment? I have no idea what you're talking about and I can assure you that we at Umbrella Corp. would never engage in any harmful or unethical experiments--especially not the kinds that involve using mobile networks and radio waves to plant ideas into your subconscious and make you do our bidding. Really, Laura, I don't where you get these ideas. ;P
But I see you've met my typo monkey! Damn little guy keeps jumping around on my keyboard every time I'm not looking...*hides behind you so the monkey can't see me* isn't he just adorable? Wouldn't you just love to keep him? *tries to sneak away*
