I'm actually pretty miffed that I wasn't asked to be an extra in the movie. For crying out loud, I'm practically a hobbit already: short, stocky, and I already eat like 7 meals a day (2nd breakfast? Why, I don't mind if I do. Elevenses? YES PLEASE). But then logic kicks in, and yeah okay, it makes sense that I wasn’t asked. I imagine it’s bad PR to have headlines like “Rabid Hobbit extra found in Richard Armitage’s dressing room. Again!” or “Lee Pace attacks Hobbit extra because she wouldn’t stop asking him about Pushing Daisies and Wonderfalls!” Then, instead of making a gazillion dollars in revenue, the movie would only make a gazillion dollars minus 5 dollars.
Here is what happened in The Shire this week:
Kay politely requested that Mr. Postman personally deliver the below envelope on a silver platter, and GUESS WHAT? He didn't. I know, I was hoping this story would have a happier ending too. Oh well, I'm drowning my disappointment by visiting Kay's photography blog, Through a Lens. Come join me, will ya?
Marissa went to the Cosmosphere in Kansas and sent me this awesome sauce astronaut postcard. It's definitely one of my favourite postcards! Not just that, Marissa addressed the postcard to Lady Laura at Armitage Place. YAY! Thanks Marissa, Gandalf says that you can pass. I felt very aristocratic this week because I got two Lady Lauras. Maybe I should go take out the garbage lest my over-inflated royal ego makes it impossible to fit my head through the front door soon. HA! WHO AM I KIDDING? I don't take out the garbage! I'm a Lady! Uh oh, danger Will Robinson, Lady Laura has forgotten her humble beginnings! We need some scandal to take her down a peg or two. Pssst! Did you hear that Lady Laura's father was a fishmonger...? *GASP!*
Post Muse puts her outgoing mail into! Isn't it cool?
SHARK MAIL for Missive Maven! My shark mail just so happens to be my first handmade postcard as well. Ilona posted about the shark mail saga here and here, and I just wanted to add: it sure is fun finding a shark in your mailbox.
I leave you with the best thing I've seen this week:
It's Canada Day long weekend, so to all the Canadian people visiting my blog: Happy Canada Day! To everyone else, umm... have a happy 2 pm!
Happy Canada Day.ReplyDelete

Oooohhh, colour me intrigued! :)Delete
Hello! Wow you received and sent out so many lovely letters! I love the penguin postcards and the third outgoing postcard!ReplyDelete
Thanks Gladys! Let me know if you'd like one of those postcards, I'd be happy to send you one. :)Delete
Hi Laura! That's really nice of you! How about we swap postcards?(: I've got some inspirational postcards and Singapore postcards, maybe we can swap postcards!^^Delete
Wow, I'm really surprised by how quick my letter got to you! Usually mail from Australia --> Canada is super slow. I am IMPRESSED by how efficient the postal service was! Now, if only they could stop losing my postcards to Russia...ReplyDelete
Agreed! My postcards to Russia either take FOREVER, or they don't arrive at all. Where do these postcards to Russia end up?!Delete
Awe, happy belated Canada Day! ;D How did you celebrate it?ReplyDelete
Laura, Laura, Laura! I got your AWESOME envelope! I'm glad I didn't see this post before because your letter came as a huge surprise. You have no idea how happy it made me. I mean, seriously, and no offense to my other pen-pals, you've sent the best stuff ever!!! :D I can't believe you sent me that Paris vs. NY postcard!!! LOVE it! I didn't know they were selling them! And I love everything else, too! Can't wait to get a few little thingies I ordered to reply ;P.
THANKS A LOT! :D
Hope your week's off to a great start! :D
Miki! When I got your surprise, I was stumped because I thought, "what can I send Miki that she doesn't already seem to have?!" Because you, my friend, sent some mighty neat things! But I'm so glad that you enjoyed my envelope too. I love those Paris vs. NY postcards, and I could not think of a better home for that cupcake one. :)Delete
What? They didn't deliver it to the your door on a platter? D: I'm going to write those people a letter! I left specific instructions! I--okay, so I'll let them off this time. (I felt I had to write it was a joke on the envelope to make sure the nice mail people didn't get offended or something XD)ReplyDelete
And if this comment posts, I will be very surprised because blogspot has decided it hates me and doesn't like to "identify" my openID/AIM/wordpress accounts.
